I love this light and the easy pulley system.

It has clean lines without looking cumbersome, like other pulley fixtures.

We use it above our kitchen table and it works great!

Got this lamp for over our dining table. It was easy (for our electrician) to install. The pulley action is smooth and quiet -- just a tiny bit of a squeak sometimes. We got the longer 12 foot cord and the counterweight balance still works fine. With a dimmer switch it's great for the dining table, which we use as a work area as well. The only complaint is that the cloth covering on the cord inevitably gets twisted, so you see a bit of that in the silhouette -- I mean, it's not a perfectly smooth cord texture. But that's a minor point and perhaps adds to the charm of it being sort of an old-fashioned and industrial light.
