Design by Arne Jacobsen,1929.
By &Tradition.

Barely out of the Art Academy, Arne Jacobsen and his friend Flemming Lassen designed the House of the Future for an exhibit in Copenhagen. The House of the Future needed a light for the future. And for this specific purpose, Arne Jaconsen created the Bellevue Collection. The exhibition house became a creative playground. Here, Jacobsen could experiment and develop new ideas on light. The House of the Future was circular, broken up by sharp straight lines. Similarly, Jacobsen's Bellevue AJ3 Table Lamp combines rounded and straight shapes. And more than anything, the lamp is simple, functional and flexible.

The Bellevue AJ3 Table Lamp is composed of an aluminum shade with a lacquered finish and a steel frame. Available in matte black or white finishes. Ships with 6.5 feet of fabric cord with a switch.

Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was trained as a bricklayer and graduated from The Technical Society's school in 1924 and Copenhagen Art Academy 1927. In 1928 he received the Academy's gold medal, but prior to this, when only 23, he was awarded a silver medal at the 1925 Paris World Exhibition — the first of numerous honours that became a natural accompaniment to his artistic activities, his untiring search and his brilliant conceptions, made manifest by many successes in competitions at home and abroad.
