Design by Verner Panton, 1969.By &Tradition.
In 1968, the students' revolts in Paris, Rome and the United States were overthrowing stiff, old values and initiating the Flower-Power generation of peace, love and harmony. This same year, Stanley Kubrick pictured the future of the year 2001, featuring the Verner Panton Cahir, and man was soon to set foot on the moon. In the world of design, a colorful, playful pendant hung in restaurants and exhibitions, and very soon, in everyone&apps;s homes. The FlowerPot, with its two semi-circular spheres facing each other, has long proved its lasting design quality and is just as much a synonym of our time, too.
The FlowerPot VP4 Table Lamp is available in yellow, white, red, green, black or chrome finishes. Ships with 6.5 feet of fabric cord.

Verner Panton was an inspirational and colorful personality. A unique person with a special sense of colours, shapes, light function and room.
Over the course of his career, Verner Panton (1926-1998) introduced a series of modern lamps with personalities unlike any of his Scandinavian contemporaries.
With a remarkable faith in the unlimited possibilities of the form, Verner Panton worked successfully to create a new set of theories about how lighting should work and how it should influence its surroundings.
Verner Panton in his own words:
"The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination. Most people spend their lives living in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of usning colors. By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles and furniture and utilizing the latest technologies, I try to show new ways, to encourage people to use their fantasy imagination and make their surroundings more exciting".
Craft meets art. Function meets form. The material is respected and the potential is revealed. This is Nordic tradition and this is the heritage that is cherished and kept. &Tradition aims to bridge the values of solid handcraft to contemporary design. &Tradition's collection covers iconic designs and undiscovered gems from the masters of yesterday, and also features new works from leading designers of today and the talent of tomorrow.
