Michele de Lucchi

Born in Ferrara, Michele de Lucchi studied in Padua and in Florence, Italy, where he graduated in architecture in 1975. After completing his studies architecture, his friendship with Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini took him to Milan at the end of the Seventies, where he became one of the main activists in the provocative designer group Memphis. His approach to the creation of new styles in design helped to play an important role in the Memphis movement, but by the late 1980's, de Lucchi had moved on to more traditional designs. After working with Artemide to develop some of their lasting bestsellers, de Lucchi created his Produzione Privata label, which creates small series of his designs featuring exquisite craftsmanship.

Modern and Elegant

This light fixture is simply beautiful! Its clean lines are pure perfection. My electrician/lighting designer who installed the fixture proclaimed it the 'nicest one' he's installed in a long time.

Love the Look.

Although expensive, I knew as soon as the electrician hung this fixture that it was perfect. It fills the space beautifully and artistically without overpowering. We were all (architect, contractor, homeowners) thrilled with the sophisticated look and feel of it. Perfect choice for a simple, but elegant statement.

Beautiful--great service.

First of all, absolutely awesome customer service from Y-Lighting. We received this fixture within 24 hours. Unfortunately 2 of 3 shades were damaged by shipping but I received new ones within 48 hours in perfect condition.

As for the actual fixture, super high end and gorgeous. It's a showstopper.

pretty but tough to install

this pretty fixture really needs to be interlocked correctly to hang properly - tough to hang - patience needed

Simply Gorgeous!

Great modernist piece. Arrived meticulously packed by Artemide. You will need it to be professionally installed given the complexity of the assembly, and mounting, but it will be all worthwhile after you turn the light on for the first time.

Good News / Bad News

I'll start with the good news: the light is gorgeous. We love the way it looks. The bad news is we ordered it in November and didn't received it until May. The worse news is that there was a serious manufacturing defect that caused the light to short out when we turned it on the first time. I'm sure we could have returned it, but we didn't want to be delayed any longer, so our electrician rewired the base himself.

Great piece of lighting art

Great product that I have specified before. The price with YLighting was less than what my rep could offer.

A wonderfully crafted stylish and organic light.

I installed this in over the dining table and it is magnificent with its soft undulating planes. Importantly it allows for really good wattage and provides good light unlike many other decorative lighting. Highly recommend this!

Beautiful

This light is so beautiful, I've ordered it twice! It's modern, elegant and will fit with any decor since it is white, but is exciting because of it's recognizable unique shape. The incandescent version provides bright diffuse light. We even tried with CFL and it looked great. Would recommend using with a dimmer so that you can use for both task and for ambience.
