Design by Richard Sapper.

The Tizio is a design classic, with the first version released in 1972. It provides orientable halogen task lighting, and its elegant counterweight and arm system keep the head constantly parallel to the table. The Tizio 35 differs from the original "Classic" in that it is 20% smaller and uses a 35W bulb instead of a 50W bulb.

  • State-of-the-art version of the Classic Tizio with the added features of parallel and transversal head rotation and dimmer.
  • Fully adjustable, balanced, electrical conductor arms in anti-corrosion treated aluminum.
  • Arm spacer bars in chromed steel with red, molded thermoplastic insulators.
  • Counter weights in zinc alloy.

Generally in stock and available for immediate shipment.

You know you have your hand on something good with a Tizio. The movement and balance of the beams feels like a Calder sculpture looks. It's got a floating sort of equilibrium. The Tizio 35 is new for us. So we hope for the same quality and production values as the original. The 35 is just out of the box now and quickly up and running. We have initial circumspection on the durability of the silver-gray finish. But the hi-Q packaging, info sheet and general style of the thing seem to bode well.

It is a classic because of its style and functionality

I had seen this lamp at a friend's and was very impressed. When I got it recently to light my new desk, I was again very pleased that it is as attractive and functional as I remembered. This lamp is well constructed and the packaging for shipping was extremely effective. I am very happy with this lamp and may order another in the near future.

A design classic and only 35 years old.

Versatile in placement and light output, this sleek table lamp works from contemporary to transitional to traditional. Challenging to overcome this combination of features.

Y Lighting made the purchase easy and answered all concerns by e-mail and phone. Excellent service. Fixture arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule which was a plus.

Very pleased

We currently use the Tizio 35 Table Lamp as a bed side lamp and find it to be better than any other bed side lamp that I have previously owned

Great bedside lamp

I needed a bedside lamp that was:
1. contemporary and great looking, 2.easily adjustable; and 3. not LED. The Tizio 35 is meets all these requirements and I just love the look of it.

the best task light.

I've had a tizio since the 80"s. This smaller version is perfect for my side table. The quality of light and functionality of the cantilevered arm make this the only lamp I need.

Office task lamp used as nightstand lamp

The smaller version of the classic Tizio lamp works well as nightstand lamp also, I got two of them, their still pretty large, but look great. The halogen lamps have two settings, and the lower one works great in the mornings and nights when you don't want too bright of a light. The high setting is great for reading.
Customer service was pretty good, it took them a while to communicate that the lamps were not available right away to ship, but then they finally got back to me. You can't beat the selection on their website.

Best lamp I've ever purchased

Bought the 35 for new townhouse. Everyone who sees it loves it, perfect for what I was looking for. Am planning to buy larger one for my office.

it's a modern 80s statement in the bedroom

Got it for my husband's nightstand thinking it would be better than installing sconces but also give private light to read by. He loves the lamp but would prefer it in the office. Right now I have a Tolomeo on my side of the bed, which is a little softer and maybe looks more appropriate. Not sure where we will be putting the Tizio but we do like it.

I expected perfection.

$450 is a lot to spend on a desk lamp, even if it is one I have wanted since it was first introduced in the early 1970s. Finally, Christmas morning I unwrapped it and put it on my desk. It IS beautiful. Here is what I don't like: it does not swivel on its base easily and the light is not as bright as I wanted. Also, it takes up a lot of room as it rotates around, but I expected that and it does look cool. In the end, I am happy to have it, but surprised it is not perfect.

I've always wanted this fixture next to my Eames lounge chair.

You could anticipate the attention to detail on the lamp just opening the box; it was as finely designed as the lamp itself. The smoothness of adjusting the lamphead confirms how carefully crafted the lamp is.

The "mid-size" fixture is perfect for it's location.
