The Tolomeo is sleek, easy to maneuver, ultra modern, yet delicate enough that it looks great as a bedside lamp. We have one on each side of the bed. It's perfect for reading. You can adjust the lamp shape just so that the other person won't be bothered by the light and can go to sleep. The base is heavy and you don't feel like it will ever fall over. It also is great as a desk lamp because again the maneuverability let's you shine the light exactly where you need it. It's great in so many ways.

Not quite yet, but perhaps one day I'll be able to have the entire collection of Tolomeos. Recently purchased two aluminum minis, and two minis in black. Debating on whether I should get a set in white as well. The black set is a gift for my brother. Everyone loves the lamps, though not everyone can justify the price. I've had several Tolomeo products for years and they've all been great quality so my justification is that they will last forever and I'm "saving" money by buying them before inevitable price increases, lol.

I'm using this as a desk lamp in addition to a Brazzo lamp by Pablo. It's a high quality light. The base is chrome, as is the arm, and the shade has an industrial gray character to it -- works well in an industrial or midcentury modern environment.

I especially like that it has a standard Edison socket, which permitted me to use a CFL bulb with the same light color as the Brazzo, for consistency.

I originally bought (2) Micros with wall mounts to use as a bedside lighting. When I received them I noticed they were a bit smaller than expected. Also, the switch is on the cord and not on the lamp itself. The folks at YLighting arranged for the exchange and I couldn't be happier with the Minis. They are the perfect lights for my bedroom. I purchased this on a whim, and don't regret it a bit. The one thing that has driven me crazy is that the lamp head has a hole in the opposing side (for heat dissipation?), so if you face the lamp away from you for indirect lighting, you get blindingly direct line of sight to the brightly lit bulb.

I really like the high-tech, modern look of the Tolomeo Mini Table Lamp. It's construction with aluminum, and wires makes for a smart looking modern desk lamp. The mini is large enough for any desk surface. I chose the clamp attachment instead of the base to save desk space and cost -- I'm glad I did. The lamp casts plenty of light and has a convenient switch at the top of the lamp making it easy to turn on and off as you get in or out of your chair. I'm very pleased with this lamp and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and functional desk lamp.

I knew about the Tolomeo table lamps for a long time, and I even had the chance to get one a couple of years back, but I went for a Luceplan instead. That turned out to be a huge mistake. My Fortebraccio stopped working a little over an year after I got it, and it cost even more than the Tolomeo Mini. Now back to the review... I got the aluminum version, and it's really quite a beautiful lamp. The craftsmanship is superb, and it came pretty much fully assembled. I'm using it as a task lamp, and so far I'm very happy with my purchase.

Purchased white enameled lamp, which is difficult to find. Sturdy construction, not flimsy like many 'jointed' lamps. Simple, clean design fits with any decor. Purchased first one as task/work lamp. The lamp is very good quality, very solid, quite flexible, and does not shake. The base is quite heavy. What I was impressed with was the auto-off feature. I had put a 150W bulb, and on overheating, the lamp shuts off. On cooling, it turns on. I duly switched it with a 100W bulb.

I rate it 4.5 stars.

There's not much to say about the Tolomeo Mini lamp that hasn't been said. It is a beautiful example of mid-century engineering. I would point out that the "mini" lamp is actually a full-size desk lamp, sitting roughly 2-3 feet tall overall. My only complaint is that the bottom arm cannot swing back, only forward, so the lamp tends to sit quite tall.

The Tolomeo Mini Lamp is perfect for a fairly small desk with limited space. I gifted this lamp for use on a sewing table where I'm told it works perfectly to add task lighting and looks great while doing it. I have it's bigger brother (the Classic) for my drawing table, but the Mini is much more suited for a desk where there isn't a need for a long arm reach. I have a Tolomeo Mini Table Lamp that I purchased 11 years ago and love it. When it came time to purchase another to create a matching pair I looked into using my professional discount at the Artimede store here in Chicago and found it easier and cheaper to buy it from Ylighting. The Tolomeo Mini Table Lamp is a perfect desk and reading lamp. The design is classy and classic-it has been for years and will continue to be so in the future. The name "Mini" is a bit misleading because it's actually a normal sized desk lamp. That means that the plain Tolomeo Table Lamp is really quite large. I have that one with a parchment shade. It's beautiful as a reading lamp next to an armchair but would be too big for my desk.
