I bought two of the Tolomeo lamps for my bedroom. I didn't want to take up space from my bedside tables, so I decided to go with the mini wall mounted model. Even thou the micro model would have done the job, I purchased the mini (a little bigger) because they have the switch integrated in the shade, not in the cord like the micro. I also got the J-bracket which conceals the wires. The result is neat and minimal. These lamps are beautiful, timeless pieces.

The packaging was perfect, the lights were in perfect condition. Exactly what we anticipated.

One advice: make sure you understand the size difference between the micro and the mini as well as the bulb potential before you make your choice. (The micro look very nice on the wall on either size of a queen size bed.)

When I ordered the tolomeo micro, the response email said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to be delivered. Happily, I received it much more quickly (in approx. 2 weeks). I put this light in a reading nook I created for my daughter and it is absolutely perfect. I am no going to order two more to use in the master bedroom!

The quality and finish of the actual lamp is pretty high. The black color was even better in person then online. The only downside is the cheaper quality of the separate "silver" portion that holds the lamp to the wall. It's obviously a lower grade shiny plastic and should really be improved to fit the rest of the lamp. Otherwise, a great purchase.

I would give this fixture 5 stars if it were not for the fact it is designed to use only incandescent bulbs. I love the light output (1750 lumens) of the 100 watt incandescent bulb which it is designed to use, however you can no longer purchase these bulbs. CFL's do not work in this fixture, the best I could find is an incandescent with light output of 1300 lumens.

We were looking for a floor lamp to sit next to the piano, illuminating the keys and music (sort of a task lamp for a piano). Most floor reading lamps are about 50" tall, a good 10"-20" too short. The few that weren't either were too expensive, didn't have a long enough horizontal arm to reach over the pianists shoulder, or didn't match out style. The wall mounted Tolomeo was the perfect solution. It would have 5 stars if the base that mounts to the wall was white to match the rest of the fixture.

Functionally, this light was exactly what I needed, so I'm psyched to have it. Overall it's a very good product. It looks good, seems well build, is easy to install and use. It's simple and sleek and works exactly as it should.

My only issue with it is the price. It's not quite as solidly built as I would expect for the price. Knock about $75 off and it's a definite 5-star.

He thought there would be a switch on the units themselves, but this is the only model that doesn't have a switch, so electrician had to make a wall switch, which made them more expensive than I planned on. It's hard to find a bedside reading lamp which can move both side-to-side and up-and-down for really well-targeted lighting. Also, one which has the on-off switch on the lamp - not on the wall ! What's the point of a bedside reading lamp if you have to get out of bed to turn if off ?? Anyway, this is well-priced (there are a few much more expensive alternatives out there), beautifully designed and completely functional.

These lamps are lovely. They do exactly what we want them to do (bedside lamps that don't have to sit on a nightstand that offer really good lighting for reading. My husband can read without too much light spilling out and I can do the same.

You'll need to provide your own screws.

I ordered two and had a defective unit, the customer service people were so quick to deal with getting another one sent out...it was a great experience all around. I would recommend these lights but also anything from the store (customer service was excellent).

I choose this light because it could extend off the wall and would make reading in bed much easier because of the direction-ability of the lamp. The lamp came with instructions and a bulb. I wish it came with a screws to match the finish of the wall mount. The switch is located on the cord and has slots on the back so it can be attached to the wall. I feel this lamp is a good size for a bed side lamp.

I like the functionality and design of these lights. Definitely be sure to check the dimensions before ordering, though. I ordered the micro size, and it's not what you might think of as micro. (Maybe I'm biased by a childhood with Micro Machines.)

My only complaint with the micro size is that I wanted to cover the cord with a channel that would attach to the wall. It's difficult to do that, though, with the on/off switch located on the cord. On the other models, I believe the switch is actually on the lamp, rather than on the cord.

I received my Tolomeo Wall light. After revieing everyones reviews I went woth the black ( BEST CHOICE) Unfortuanltly I have not been able to hook it up yet. I'm moving to Sao Paulo in Dec, but I know once I hook it up in my new location it is going to look amazing.

I have bought several things from Y-lighting and I have never been disapointed. All of theire product has been exceptional and the prices are very lower or about the same as other companys.

I think I can't get enough of these Tolomeo lamps. They are so versatile, can be moved to any direction, the light that comes from the shade is great and also you have the indirect light that comes from the small opening on the back. Fit and finish is something you will expect after paying $300 and made in Italy. Super modular and several options for surface and mounting applications.

I decided to go for the aluminum finish in order to keep them as original as possible and in some cases, to match my mac setup of glass/aluminum. I have 2 minis on the night stands, a wall mounted version for the computer desk and a big tolomeo mega for the living room. I think I will get the clip-on next or a micro for a small desk. It's an addiction for sure.

We really like these lights at our bedside for reading lamps. The opaque shades are great to keep the light out of your partner's eyes, and keep the light focused on your New Yorker. The aluminum shades remain cool enough to handle, even with 60w bulbs installed. The adjustability of the lamps is really nice for the purpose, letting me put the light where I want it, and me where I wanna be.

it functions beautifully--the articulated arm lets the user direct the light exactly where he/she wants it, without disturbing other people in bed.
