In 1989, when the Tolomeo table/task was given the Compasso d'Oro award for Italian industrial design it was credited with having achieved the perfect marriage between design and engineering that works together in total "sync" to materialize an idea and create the perfect object for indusctial production.
Since then, the Tolomeo's award-winning design, engineering and performance features have been further refined in a complete series of models for table, floor, wall, track and suspension application.
This wall light offers orientable incadescent direct or indirect lighting. Body in polished die-cast aluminum. 6" diameter diffuser is made of stamped, anodized matte aluminum, tiltable and 360 degree rotatable on lampholder with incorporated on/off switch. Wall support in polished die-cast aluminum suitable for direct mounting and wwiring to wall junction box, or wall surface mounting with plug-in connection. Uses 1 X 100W max medium base incandescent bulb (not included). Design: Michele De Lucchi, Giancarlo Fassina.

I do enjoy this product. I now have two in my home and plans for two more. The lights are simple to install, although the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Being able to direct the light in different directions is very nice.

Excellent Problem Solver
Well-constructed light, quality feel, worth the money. Excellent solution for a corner of a room that needed extra light but was not suited for a floor lamp. This Tolomeo lamp mounts neatly and semi-permanently to the wall, but is plugged into an outlet, obviating the need for an electrician to run new wiring to the lamp (but the lamp can also be hardwired if desired, and includes the necessary hardware). Plenty of illumination with the 100 watt halogen bulb that I use. Infinitely adjustable swivel action in all directions. Generous cord length. Nice, solid switch.

Love the product...
Lights are great. These Tolomeo spots are being used as bedside lamps for my 10 year olds built in beds - although I didn't install them, the handy man in my building did and it took him 15 min. or less for each. Looks great - works great. But a word about the shipping process - originally we were shipped the wrong style lamps (clip on). Although Y lighting handled all the return & replacement shipping (UPS) they gave wrong instructions. So when UPS just showed up asking for a pick up we were unprepared. I'll have to wait for my credit card bill to make sure I wasn't charged for two sets of lamps.

Not thrilling, but good looking.
We recently purchased two Tolomeo Wall Spot lights for either side of our bed. We chose them for their stainless shades; it's hard to find bedside lights with stainless shades! So we don't feel these lights are show-stoppers and would have loved to find something that we drooled over, but this was the best we could find and they look good. We are happy with the light they emit and flexibility of the lamps themselves. Great fro reading and a nice low-pro look that works well in any modern space.

Perfect and versatile.
I now own five Tolomeo wall spot lights. They are beautiful, practical and surprisingly versatile. They work in the kitchen, bedroom, and even hallway. All of mine are hardwired. There's a little black 'plug' inside the box so the cord can be clipped and finished. I was suspicious at first, but am now very happy with these lights.

New Construction Housings
In contrast to remodeling housings, new construction housings are bulkier and need to be installed between joist beams or onto hangar bars and thus you need full access to the space above the fixture. This style is best used if you are building in a new space, gutting a room, or have an attic above or pop out ceiling, etc.

Non-IC stands for: non insulation contact. Thus, non-IC-rated housings must be kept at least 3 inches away from any insulation.
IC Rated
IC stands for: insulation contact. Thus, IC-rated housings can come in direct contact with thermal insulation.
MR16 Halogen Bulb
MR 16 is a standard format for halogen multifaceted reflector light bulbs. MR16 lamps are regularly used in place of standard incandescent light bulbs as they harness and shoot light, resulting in less light loss than a traditional bulb. These are best used when you want focused light such as in a pendant over a countertop or an accent light on a painting.

CUL stands for Underwriters Laboratories of Canada, a non-profit company that tests electrical components and equipment for potential hazards. If something is UL-listed, I means it has met the agency's safety requirements for things like fire, shock hazards, etc. While you can buy and install non-UL listed fixtures, sometimes insurance policies will limit their liabilities accordingly, inspectors may not approve permits, etc.

If the lighting system is exposed to direct impact by water from splashing or dripping, which will make the fixture wet, then the location is a wet location. Your most common wet locations are uncovered outdoor areas.
Baffle Trim
The term Baffle refers to the grooved style of the trim. This trim is the most popular choice of all recessed lighting trims and is best used in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and dens.
Open Reflector
Reflector trims have a higly polished inner trim, which gives the most amount of light off of the light bulb. This trim is perfect for use in kitchens, offices and commercial buildings.
Slotted Aperture
The slotted aperture trim is used to highlight or accent a specific object or space.
Pin Hole
Pin Hole trims give off a narrow spread of light. This trim is perfect for highlight a small object from above.
Baffle
