Unlike feeling like a metal with substance the lamp had the look and feel of a christmas ornament. Not the best, but another color might be better. The classic bell shape appeals to those with a traditional sensibility (like my wife), but the high gloss reflective finish and perforated bottom edge give this fixture a modern edge. I love the visual vibration that occurs when the light interacts with the perforations! I'm not crazy about the white plastic cord, but that's just a matter of personal preference. All in all, this classic, elegant pendant was my gateway into the beautiful range of mid-century lighting from Artek.
