It runs much cooler than halogen light bars, reducing the heat build-up in the cabinet. I've had a number of bulb burnouts in the first weeks after installation, though, be prepared and have extra bulbs on hand. We installed the lights ourselves and managed to place them properly. One set was placed at the back of the cabinet, and the individual lights were shining on the wall separately. (At a desk.) The rest of the lights were positioned farther forward and it gave more of a "wash effect" which was much prettier. Template for drilling holes was slightly off.
