Design by Omer Arbel.
Made in Vancouver, Canada by Bocci.

Unlike most contemporary lighting, the 14 Series pendants are visually quite subtle and are designed for clustering. When multiplied they produce the effect of many tiny candles encased in floating spheres of water. The light interacts with the imperfections and bubbles of the cast glass to make a visually rich halo of light. Cast glass is an organic process - imperfect by nature - so each piece produced is unique.

The 14.7 Seven Pendant Chandelier is comprised of seven single cast glass pendants connected by braided steel coaxial cable to a brushed nickel canopy. Each individual pendant is an articulated, seamed, cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void which houses a 10 watt xenon or 1.8W LED lamp. The cast glass is available in the standard clear and can also be ordered in a rich smoked grey.

Canopy mounts to standard octagonal junction box, with electronic transformer fitting inside junction box. Each pendant ships with 10 feet of wire that can be field shortened; recommended minimum height is 12" to the bottom of the sphere. LED model is not dimmable.

Omer Arbel

Omer Arbel trained in the late 1990’s as an architect. He apprenticed under Enric, Miralles, John and Patricia Parkau and Peter Busby, among others; and was centrally involved in several successful high profile building projects and international design competitions.

In 2003, Arbel founded a multi-disciplinary design studio focused on blurring the boundaries between the fields of architecture, industrial design, manufacturing and materials research. This interdisciplinary approach was born of the necessities of building a sustainable and ambitious office in a context with little opportunity within the cultural periphery, but has since transformed into a structure uniquely positioned to explore the rich area of investigation in the overlap of these fields.

In 2005, Arbel became Bocci's creative director. His conceptual approach, now fueled by an infrastructure for prototyping, fine craft, manufacturing and distribution, has given birth to a collection of conceptually driven lighting, furniture, electrical accessories and objects, which have since gained significant presence and impact within the design community.

Accolades include several Red Dot and iF Awards, a Yellow Pencil Yearbook Entry, the Ron Thom Early Design Achievement Award, a World Architecture Festival Shortlist, with Corrine Hunt, the commission to design the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Medals, and most recently a major installation at the grand atrium of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

I fell in love with the lamp the moment I saw it online. I originally purchased it for our staircase but decided to test it in the living room. It looks absolutely fantastic. Elegant, subtle, perfect for our high ceiling. Expensive but worth it.

Makes great impact.

I installed this light fixture in a clients loft living room. The height I needed was one of the reasons I chose this fixture due to it's 10 feet of wire cording. To put this fixture together (all of the glass globes come individually packed and wiring rolled up) you defiantly need to assistance of one or two other people - lets hope on is an electrician. My crew did a fantastic job but I was needed to ensure the bulbs did now touch each other and that the wiring did not bend etc. In the end, it was stunning. One more note, if hanging from an exposed junction box - in my case, against a concrete ceiling, you might require a narrow piece of sheet metal or other silver materials to close the gap between top of silver plate and ceiling.

Beautiful light-great price

I had shopped around for a Bocci light that would work in my master ensuite. I found this one on Y-lighting and the price was great. It was delivered quickly (even to Canada, which can sometimes take forever). Overall, it was a great, easy shopping experience.

Awesome light fixture!

Both my husband and I love this light fixture in our foyer. Everyone that comes over notices it and comments on it being great! Little pricey though!

Elegant simplicity

I was worried that the seven pendant chandelier may not be large enough for my dining area, however, I am glad I didn't spend more for the larger models. It works well for a 6-person dining table and emits plenty of light. This chandelier is simply beautiful, perhaps a bit fancy for my mid-century modern home but I love it.
