The 14 Series are a family of low voltage pendants designed to be clustered in groups. Each individual pendant is an articulated, seamed, cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void which houses a 10 watt xenon or 1.8W LED lamp. Unlike most contemporary lighting, the 14 Series pendants are visually quite subtle in and of themselves — they do not dominate a room or space. Instead, they are designed for clustering — gaining tremendous visual strength when multiplied — the effect being of many tiny candles encased in floating spheres of water. The light interacts with the imperfections and bubbles of the cast glass to make a visually rich halo of light. Cast glass is an organic process — imperfect by nature — so each piece produced is unique.

14wl is suitable for wet locations, meaning this atmospheric pendant light can be installed outdoors or in a variety of commercial and residential applications. Offered with cast glass in clear, smoked grey or amber. Brushed nickel canopy with a braided metal coaxial cable mounts to standard octagonal junction box, with electronic transformer fitting inside junction box. Dimmable with an electronic low voltage dimmer.

Each pendant ships with 10 feet of wire that can be field shortened. Recommended minimum height is 12" to the bottom of the sphere. Each 14wl Pendant is outfitted with a teflon coated coaxial cable and a silicon plug for the top of the pendant.

Note: For custom cord lengths greater than 10' please call (866) 428-9289 to place order. Custom cords are $20 per 10' increment (Maximum length is 100').

Omer Arbel

Omer Arbel trained in the late 1990’s as an architect. He apprenticed under Enric, Miralles, John and Patricia Parkau and Peter Busby, among others; and was centrally involved in several successful high profile building projects and international design competitions.

In 2003, Arbel founded a multi-disciplinary design studio focused on blurring the boundaries between the fields of architecture, industrial design, manufacturing and materials research. This interdisciplinary approach was born of the necessities of building a sustainable and ambitious office in a context with little opportunity within the cultural periphery, but has since transformed into a structure uniquely positioned to explore the rich area of investigation in the overlap of these fields.

In 2005, Arbel became Bocci's creative director. His conceptual approach, now fueled by an infrastructure for prototyping, fine craft, manufacturing and distribution, has given birth to a collection of conceptually driven lighting, furniture, electrical accessories and objects, which have since gained significant presence and impact within the design community.

Accolades include several Red Dot and iF Awards, a Yellow Pencil Yearbook Entry, the Ron Thom Early Design Achievement Award, a World Architecture Festival Shortlist, with Corrine Hunt, the commission to design the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Medals, and most recently a major installation at the grand atrium of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
