The Bocci 28 Series

The 28 Series is an exploration of fabrication process. Instead of designing the form itself, the designer's intent for the 28 was to create a system that produces form. Each iteration of the fabrication procedure produces a different shape. Thus, every 28 Series pendant made is different from any other in existence.

Individual 28 Series pendants result from a complex glass blowing technique whereby air pressure is intermittently introduced to and then removed from a glass matrix. The result is a distorted spherical shape with a composed collection of inner shapes, one of which is made of opaque milk glass and houses a low voltage xenon lamp.

These pendants are designed to cluster in hexagonal shapes, which nestle into one another to create patterns as dictated by the needs of the interior.
