Design by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà, 2010.
Made in Spain by Bover.

Fora ceiling will provide diffused and ambient illumination to your outdoor living areas. The outer shade is made from woven polyethylene fiber and surrounds a uv protected, white polyethylene globe. The canopy and hardware are made from iron and coated with anti-corrosive, Cataphoresis treatment- this basically means that lacquer particles received an electrical charge and they formed a uniform, water-insoluble coating - to help withstand exposure to the elements. The fixture is semi-flush to the ceiling and allows for soft indirect light.

Fora ceiling is available in a choice of two colors: light beige or brown graphite. The shade and the structure are color coordinated. Uses self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps (not included).

The Fora has an IP55 rating, but has not been Wet Location listed by ETL. This means the product should be used under cover of a roof or ceiling.

Gonzalo Milà

Gonzalo Milà was born in 1967 and studied architecture in Barcelona. In 1999, Milà joined the Urban Division of Santa & Cole, where he was responsible for several products. In 2001, he decided to go out on his own in order to pursue his true passion: furniture design.

Milà has created many urban elements that currently bring life to many Spanish streets, and his work has been acknowledged with various industrial design awards. In his own words, Milà seeks to design the "little things that surprise every day without gratuitousness, starting from new technologies or from applying traditional technologies to new concepts."

Alex Fernández Camps

Born in 1972, Alex Fernández Camps studied combining technical architecture with artistic practices in different disciplines, such as painting, photography and installation. During that time, he began to practice industrial design, finding inspiration in the objects that immediately surround us.

Camps believes that good design requires understanding an object and its function on a human scale. Instead of working one-on-one with an object, Camps seeks to envision a product as it would be used by people in a particular situation, creating a piece that is as simple as possible.
