The dichroic coated glass has a liquid mercury-like finish but when lit will show a fusion of dichroic colors. I would suggest pairing these with an electronic low voltage dimmer, so you can create different lighting effects. When turned off they have a shiny chrome appearance; at a low dim level the chrome effect becomes slightly transparent, and you can see the rainbow colors starting to appear; at full brightness its all color - a nice bright rainbow.
