The glass globes were near identical for a hand-blown shade. I chose to use the MR-16 Bulbs as with this application they are used as spot lights in a kitchen setting to pinpoint the working area. The manufacturer should HOWEVER explain that by merely unscrewing the actual glass globe from the metal fittings, the bulb can easily be placed in the recepticle. All in All, a wonderful product!
