I couldn't be more happy with this purchase. This pendant remains true to the Nelson design, is quality made, and reasonably priced. All of the measurements and depictions online were accurate, although I must say the pictures don't do it justice. A perfect piece for our entryway!

I've always loved the simplicity of the ball lamps and knew that I would eventually purchase one when we started our remodeling project. We first purchased the medium ball lamp for our two-story foyer, but it looked a bit too large in our space. So we decided to use that lamp over the dining table and purchase the small ball lamp for the foyer. We haven't installed either lamp yet since we're still in the middle of our remodel, but both lamps arrived in perfect condition and I know they will complete the look we're going for.

My only hesitation about ordering this lamp is that they have become quite common (and now we might be overdoing it by having two!). But when a classic is this good, it seems a shame to overlook it simply because it's popular.

This is the third Nelson product we've bought for our new home. The lamp was delivered on time and in great condition. Ylighting customer service was great with assisting me with how much extra wire I should purchase. Where the lamp was to be placed in my home, the ceiling is two stories high. We needed to have enough wire to hang it that long. We ended up needing 20ft of wire. The difficult part was unscrewing the bolt on the lamp. It would just spin the rest of the metal saucer. We had to get two different sets of pliers to get it to budge. That took the most time and that is why my rating is 4 stars instead of 5. There is was no information on the web or in the box to assist with the process and Ylighting customer service was closed for the holidays. if there could be some helpful hints or guide to changing the wire length it would save some headaches. It seems very self explanatory, however the bolt is really on there. So be aware of that if you are purchasing extra cord. Other than that; the lamp is great! it makes our large space very chic. Be aware that the lamp is deceptively large. We ordered a large and works in our area, however it is really big.

I ordered this ceiling fixture after ordering two Nelson Cigar floor lamps. I was scared I would be over-doing the mid-century thing, as my house is quite small, but it all works. This small globe works perfectly in my tiny kitchen. I have a 150 watt bulb in it (love that these fixtures can handle high wattage), and it is totally softened by the shade. Unobtrusive and mellow. I highly recommend it!

I had been looking endlessly for two hanging lamps for an 1820's house we are restoring/rehabbing to live in. Our design philosophy? Anything that looks old is original to the property and the rest is uncomplicated modern. The hanging lamps in question needed to look modern but not obtrusive, and we wanted the light to expose the walls and ceiling in a stairwell landing.
