The Biker Stool's leather-lined seat - the geometry of which is based on a motorcycle seat pan - sits on top of three tubular steel legs. Both the legs and the seat feature a powder coated finish, and are joined by means of custom machined brass hardware. This contemporary stool is suitable for modern interior spaces. Established in 2006, Castor is Brian Richer, a trained architectural stone carver with a degree in English literature, and Kei Ng, a trained architect with a background in set design. Castor's work has been described as a cross between Guy Maddin and Larry Clark with a side of Stompin' Tom Connors. They are interested in the middle ground between high design and ribald yokelism. Materials and reuse of materials is also an important part of Castor's aesthetic. Burnt out bulbs to make lighting, a rusty shipping container to make a sauna - this re-contextualization of materials is a primary design consideration for Castor.
