Nick Sheridan

Nick Sheridan grew up in Laguna Beach, CA enjoying the ocean and art culture. From an early age Nick was involved with building things with his father, a local contractor who taught him to appreciate design. In high school Nick began to build things with two friends on the weekends, which was the beginning of the trio that would later found Cerno. Over the years the Laguna Beach friends participated in art festivals, and other creative expressions before going off to college to study their respective disciplines.

The experience of architecture school re-calibrated Nick Sheridan as a designer, and equipped him with a modern language and style all his own. After receiving an architecture degree from Cal Poly, and studying abroad in Italy, Nick practiced architecture in southern California, often designing custom furniture and lighting for projects. In 2009, Nick and his two life long friends and collaborators began Cerno, an industrial design and manufacturing company.

Cerno specializes in designing and manufacturing modern LED light fixtures. Cerno is passionate about modern design and committed to manufacturing all of their product here in the USA.

Simply Stunning and Energy Efficient too!

we chose this wall sconce for the dramatic feel of it. It was put in a hospital environment and flanked offices.

Stunning construction, materials and design.

I purchased two Acuo LED Wall Sconces for my 1958 home and am extremely pleased. The way the pieces are constructed simple, elegant and innovative.

Two set screws hold the outer cover via custom machined billet aluminum blocks and the back plate is light and compact. The led lights seem very durable being molded into the back plate.

THE LOOK:
Once installed the sconce is beautiful on a white wall. It throws long triangular patters up and down and gives off a very warm 2700k light. It's not too bright, but it is the kind of light that makes a room feel elegant and even romantic.

MOUNTING PLATE:
The only issue I had was with the mounting bracket (between box and the led back plate) because it did not fit my vertical blue J-Boxes.

After speaking with the nice folks at Cerno, they suggested I drill a new hole in each back plate to get the holes to align.

I went out and bought a set of metal drill bits and a punch to prevent hole creep and I drilled out both plates. They turned out perfect.

With the new hole I was able to use some washers as spacers to pull the plate far enough from the wall to allow the back plate to screw into the mounting plate to use the provided 3/4" screws.
