The Mizu Collection, Tranquil and Mesmerizing Light. A lighting collection that engages the senses - Mizu, designed by Nicolas Terzani, is a kind of sculpture imbued with the power to animate an environment. Shaped by master craftsmen from the clearest 24% lead crystal, each organically shaped droplet is unique in form and creates wondrous refractions, an effect thats further amplified by the crisp white light of energy-efficient halogen lamps.
Inspired by the irregular shape of river stones, Mizu references the natural interaction between light and water. No two Mizu are alike - each crystal shape is unique and made meticulously by hand. Lead oxide is added to molten glass, providing greater refraction, and thus greater "sparkle". A triangular, pyramid shape is drilled from the center of each Mizu to allow for the lighting hardware to be installed. After trying 100 different sizes and shapes during the inital design process, Terzani found this triangular shape best achieved the desired effect of casting shadows reminiscent of flowing water.
Available in one-, three-, five- and seven-light configurations. Mizu infuses subtle contemporary design with calming waves of refracted light, creating an ambiance resounding with energy.
