Solo is a handsomely designed lamp that works well.
I went to some lengths to find it online and YLighting had a great price, considerably lower than at the store where I first saw it.
A couple of drawbacks: I'm using it as a bedside lamp but it's small so I had to elevate it for that purpose. Also, some lamps reverse the dimmer when you release the button; with Solo you have to hold and wait while it goes though the whole dim-to-bright cycle. But these negatives are minor.
This light was designed to be a low profile task light that illuminates a specific area with either warm light or daylight - a more intense whiter light, my preference. The styling fits a transitional or contemporary environment with sleek simplistic lines. Operationally it illuminates to full brightness within 2-5 seconds, little heat, excellent light ouptput, low energy with only 1 button - on/off. Even the power button is cool. No need for a dimmer IMO.
No downside worth the money
