LiAOBorn in Taiwan in 1969, LiAO received his PhD in solid-state physics. Although he never attended design school, he was always interested in and showed talent for art since early childhood. After working in the LED industry for many years, his continued love for design led him to establish his own company, Mindspring Lighting. Through Mindspring he was able to refine his unique approach to solid-state lighting. As suggested by the name, Mindspring reflects the spirit that brings technical expertise and specific design aesthetics into play. The year 2010 will showcase LiAO's unique designs in lighting as the brand design by LiAO. SOLO, LiAO's first creation was born in 2005. Today SOLO is still one of the brightest and most portable task lamps.
