Gerhard Reichert was born in Ravensburg, Germany in 1962. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Science Weingarten. After graduating, he continued his education and received a degree in integral design at the SADK Stuttgart. In 1997 Michele De Lucchi invited him to work with him in Milan as a project manager in Studio De Lucchi. While he worked he laid the foundations for his own studio, Reichert-Design. In 2004 he was appointed Professor for Design at the University of Applied Science Aachen and in 2007 he accepted the offer for a professorship at the University of Applied Science SchwÃÂ¤bisch GmÃÂ¼nd. His expertise is design in complex global contexts and alternate branches of industry and markets such as office furniture, interiors, lamps and industrial and medical products. He has collaborated with national and international companies such as Artemide, AAT, ALS, Brunner, iGuzzini, Interstuhl, Koleksiyon, Leifheit, and Molteni.
