Jeremy Pyles, along with his wife Mary Welch are the co founders of Niche Modern, which has created some of Americas funkiest new lighting designs. After receiving his Bachelors of Fine Art in Art at the University of Texas at Austin in 1993, Jeremy Pyles co-founded the company Andante, which was a graphics software and importer based in Tokyo, Japan. After working there for two years, Jeremy went on to become the Senior Information Architect at NetObjects. In 2003 Jeremy created Niche Modern. Frustrated with the lighting options available for their Manhattan home-furnishings shop, Niche, they came together and created the hand-blown pendant Stamen in 2003. Their light fixture quickly became the stores most coveted item and in 2005 they debuted a line of 10 different lights, ranging in shapes from flattened spheres to bell jars.
