Marco Piva, an Italian architect and designer, was born in Milan in 1952. In 1977 he graduated at Politecnico di Milano and founded STUDIODADA in 1978, one of the design offices of the radical period. In 1984 Studio Marco Piva was opened, with activities ranging from large architectural projects for tourist facilities, to interior design and finally industrial design for the production of accessories for common areas. In 2001, a variety of experiences in strategic consulting in the field of design and hotel contract work culminated in consulting work with the contract division of Federlegno - Arredo. In 2002, "Atelier Design" was established, which was created as a center for industrial design research and development. It placed its experience at the service of leading companies in the fields of seating, furnishing, plumbing and bathroom fixtures, lighting and laminate print manufacturing. Since 1999, this has been combined with teaching positions at universities and design institutes both in Italy and abroad, and the organization of the post-graduate Masters degree program at the Politecnico di Milano, the Polytechnic School of Design and the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.
