I purchased this having a very good idea of the aesthetic of the lamp, and it was exactly as expected. What was unexpected was how dim it is. I purchased with the idea of using it as a bedside lamp to read by, and it is really not adequately bright for that. The manufacturer advises not to exceed a small 40W bulb, as it may melt the covering. So I think it depends on your purpose and what other lighting you have. Just be aware of the issue.

This lamp is perfectly situated on a credenza in my home office. It serves as an attractive accent lamp providing additional but not primary lighting in the work area. The 18" lamp provides a nice presence and casts varied amounts of light depending on the situation. I'm glad they outfitted this lamp with a rheostat so the light can be adjusted with the mood of the room. It's a beautiful lamp that fills a number of lighting situations within a room.

I bought the 18" Elise lamp for my nightstand next to my bed, but love this so much that I just purchased the 32" for my living room. The lamp has a nice, simple and elegant presence and creates a nice glow in the room. I like the adjustable dimmer feature, so you can create a low lit warm glow, or brighten the room, which it does nicely. I don't have any lights in my small living room, so am using the Elise and a few other lamps which can make the room as bright or as intimate as I want it to be. The Elise is well made and the frosted material, though not glass, looks like it is. The only thing I may critique is the location and size of the dimmer.. it might be better if not so close to the lamp, and not as bulky, but this is a very small suggestion. Overall this is a well designed lamp and I might be ordering another one soon.. love the different sizes too.

Tried 2 small lamps for bedside reading lamps -- completely inadequate lighting. Perhaps the large table lamps with the 40 watt bulbs would work for this application but I suspect those would be too dim as well. Otherwise, high quality lamps with excellent fit and finish for a reasonable price compared to many other lighting choices.

I followed the manufacturer's specifications on bulbs to a T but both of my lamp's shades melted and there's this hideous bulge now in the middle of both cylinders. Perhaps I got a defective batch but for it to happen to two? The design is nice, but all I can do is throw them away now.

I bought two of these for a vanity table after buying two other Pablo lamps of a different design for a guest bedroom. All of them are the definition of clean and sleek elegance. The fluted shades exude a warm soft glow and the silver base is tidy and unobtrusive. The only drawback is the limitation of the 40 watt bulb inside so its not ideal if you need a really bright light.

The smaller Elise table lamp is a great addition to the larger ones that we already have next to our bed. It's a timeless design that works no matter the room or decor. Purchased two 18" Elise Table lamps for the bed side tables. Pleasantly surprised. While not overly bright, with the heavy dimmer switch cranked all the way, both lights give off the necessary light. If you have a yen for objects that are minimally designed, look sharp and don't take up a lot of room, these are the lights for you. Besides, it's a win-win situation. If you are not fully enamored with the table lamps.....you can return them.

I was looking for a nightstand lamp with a contemporary design, small footprint and a frosted glass shade. Elise lamp from Pablo Design was the best match I found on the Web. When I received my order, I found that the quality of the materials is not so great for the price I paid. The shade is not frosted glass, but plastic imitation, which smells bad when heated from the light bulb. In addition, the dimmers are cheap and I would expect problems with them in the future.

Although the shade is manmade material, it looks like frosted glass. At first I was concerned about the bulb required, but I checked and found another with no problem. The control switch allows for graduated light which is another nice feature since it's in the bedroom. Y Lighting has been awesome in the couple of times I've bought products from them. Highly recommended.
