This is a Chinese-made version of the design originally made in Italy. The externals are all the same, solid, but it no longer has a variable intensity, just on and off. It is, however much brighter, with the LED.

I like the lines of this fixture but I was very disappointed in three ways - that it's PLASTIC was a shock and the amount of light that comes from this piece - EXTREMELY BAD light output - I also don't like that there are no options for increasing the light output.

While it's LED the color is blueish and not very friendly in a residential space. I feel it's great only if all the lights are off in the room otherwise it provides little light even to read by with the piece REALLY close to where I need the source. I'm glad I didn't recommend this to a client as they would be disappointed. If I could, I would return this piece. Let me know if I can. I'm very disappointed in the light output.
