Design by Alberto Saggia and Valerio Sommella, 2013.
"The name of the collection - explains designer Valerio Sommalla - is tied to the shape of Japanese Mochi rice cakes". These are traditional Japanese cakes made of ground and beaten rice which is used to obtain a soft white paste and is subsequently given a rounded shape. The same soft shapes are realized in satin-finish white blown-glass to form the Lumi - Mochi collection. The new clustered versions are a natural evolution of the series.
The Lumi - Mochi F07A31 features 30 suspended diffusers from one central round canopy. The diffusers are satin-finish white blown glass, the canopy is steel and powder coated aluminum. Pendant heights are field-adjustable and designed to hang at random heights. Line-voltage halogen light source provides easy dimming and operation. Provides diffused ambient illumination.
