It provides a functional amount of light for our family room, and the fan operates quietly and smoothly (no balancing weights required). It was easy to install by myself, with no help, although the documentation was a bit confusing (blades go on after installation, although that was not made clear at the start). The remote is a bit clunky, but since our fan is on a circuit controlled by a light switch, we only have to use the remote occasionally to make adjustments to the settings. I would rate it 5/5 if the remote worked more smoothly.
