I did a side by side comparison of the big box depot in my neighborhood. While this connector costs more , this molding of the cover is simply nicer and fits better.

This light came in a good quality finish. It does not look cheap at all. It is quite rich looking. We couldn't be more pleased with the construction of the product, the quick delivery and good packaging.

This track system works really well and looks good, too. The floating canopy connector allows you to supply electricity to the track from an electrical box which is already installed in your ceiling (for example from an existing lighting fixture or ceiling fan). The only snag I ran into is that the screw holes on the bracket that comes with the canopy connector are meant to line up with the holes on a metal octagonal electrical box, or a "pancake" box. On my ceiling however the electrical boxes are the small rectangular type. This meant I had to go to the home improvement store to the ceiling fan section, and get an "all purpose crossbar" from the ceiling fan department. It's like an adapter bracket which for a few bucks will facilitate the canopy installation.

I was designing a custom track light system to illuminate some built-in bookcases using the existing ceiling workbox. I needed to have a short section of track followed by a right angle and then a long section of track all of which could rotate around the workbox to maintain the centrerline between the bookcases that were on two angled walls. These components allowed me to do just what I needed.
