FLOS

FLOS was founded in 1962. The very same year they began producing a number of lamps that were to become classics in Italian industrial design. These first lamps were Arco, Relemme, Toio and Taccia all designed by Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni. As a tangible proof of their timeless design and technical excellence, these lamps continue to be produced today.

From the very outset, FLOS has been characterized by its high-quality approach to lamp design and production. Many of the numerous lamps designed for the company, first by Achille and Piergiacomo, are undoubtedly some of the best-known and most successful products of industrial design. They have won awards and historical critical accolades, and are included in all the most important collections and design museums around the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact halogen reading light. The halogen light creates a very warm directed light that is good for reading chairside. Does not take up too much floor or visual space. A dimmer would be a nice feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Subtly stylish reading lamp. Purchased two Flos tab floor lamps for my second home - very happily followed with the purchase of a third for my primary residence. Well priced for quality / style factors relative to comparable manufacturers. Only complaint - long delivery time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We think this floor lamp works very well functionally and aesthetically in that it almost disappears due to its clean design and dark finish, yet, upon closer inspection, is very elegant in its design. In addition to the above comments, we think the base could be weighted slightly more than it is to avoid feeling as if it may tip over, and simply to feel slightly more substantial. Otherwise - perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product But Small! I love my Tab Floor Lamp and I get a ton of compliments on it but I highly recommend that you look at the specifications of it to make sure it's exactly what you want. I didn't check before ordering it and it's a bit shorter than I expected it would be. Nonetheless, it's completely gorgeous and I think the height is perfect for my apartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its great! I wasn't sure how the Tab Floor Lamp would look, or whether it would cast enough light when we picked it out. It completely surpassed my expectations. It is very simple and elegant, while still being designed enough to hold its own in our very contemporary house. It sheds a ton of light, and only take up a little bit of room. Its perfect as a bed side reading lamp, but when the shade is still tilted up, throws light across my son's entire room. One thing to watch: its the perfect height for our son's bed, which is a little lower than average. If he had a taller bed, it might not be quite tall enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slick lamp. Wish it were a bit brighter This is a really nicely designed lamp. It looks great but from a practical perspective, I wish it were a bit brighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from elegant lamp I purchased the floor lamp and the smaller table lamp. Both are beautiful and functional. The light is bright enough for reading as the focus is narrow. It does not extend like most "pharmacy" floor lamps but the fixed height is just right next to a reading chair of a couch as it feels very slender and unobtrusive. The finish is not a high gloss but it is definitely not mat; higher sheen than satin. Ours is next to the classic Eames chair and the lines of the lamp compliment beautifully the lines of the chair.

what would the wattage be for this reading lamp would it be equivalent to 60 or 100 watt incandescent

Asked by: SandiW
The wattage in terms of incandescent would be about 45, with a Lumen output of around 425. If you are considering what constitutes a good reading lamp, keep in mind that when lighting normal living space, allow for 20 Lumens per square foot and 50 Lumens per square foot for task lighting. LEDs also have an important advantage over incandescent in that they do not heat the environment and they are built for longevity with around 50,000 hours on each module. Can the LED bulb/ strip be changed once the light bulb runs out? Whats the longevity of the LED strip?

Asked by: KMehta
Hi there! This comes with an integrated 5W 120V LED module that emits 425 lumens. It is rated for an average of 50,000 hours of life based on typical average everyday use. That is at least 25 years of life at 100% luminosity. Most LEDs Last well beyond, but they often illuminate at 90% to 80% percent of original luminosity. Please feel free to contact us anytime at 866.842.6209 with any further questions about this product, or to follow up with anything else. We're here to help! Stephanie, YLighting Team
