Patricia Urquiola

Born in Oviedo, a town of Northern Spain, Patricia Urquiola studied first in Madrid and then in Milan where in 1989 she graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with her thesis supervised by the internationally renowned designer and architect Achille Castiglioni. Even though from a sociocultural point of view she is very attached to the Spanish tradition, the studies she got involved with influenced her to such an extent that she became of the most important figures of modern Italian design.

From 1990 to 1992 she taught in the role of assistant professor at the Milan Polytechnic, and at the Ensci (Ecole nationale supérieure de création industrielle) in Paris, France. During that period she also started a partnership with the Italian design company Maddalena De Padova where she met another internationally renowned designer, Vico Magistretti, with whom she designed the chair Flower, the sofa Loom, and the horizontal chair Chaise Longue. Like Achille Castiglioni, Vico Mgistretti noticed her talent and advised her to aspire to achieve the highest professional standards at a worldwide level.

From 1993 to 1996 she worked in a design workshop that she had initiated with other designers where she was involved in architectural planning of buildings, interior design, and exhibition design. In 1998 she started partnership with the firm Moroso and created elegant upholstered pieces of furniture that people found irresistible.

Patricia Urquiola while working in harmony with the highest academic standards, also takes into consideration the impact that her products have on the vast public. She focuses on the design of exchangeable units without using modular elements, and successfully creates environments designed to encourage positive feelings and company.

From 1996 she is a coordinator of the design group of the company Lissoni Associati and articulates her professional activity around countless work partnerships with design and architecture companies of worldwide importance like her teachers Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti had wished.

The Caboche Piccola chandelier is beautiful.

The Caboche Piccola chandelier is beautiful. We really enjoy it, it makes our little powder room a real jem. There is some assembly required but well worth it.

I love love love this light...I hope to order and install more of them when I figure out where this one is going--it would fabulous in a series in a long hallway--It is really wonderful.

I admired this light in a shop in Manhattan and found it by googling "bubble lights" and discovered your source--then also the shopkeeper would

I love this light--although i have not installed it yet, it is perfect--My daughter loved assembling it and besides being very happy with the design, your customer service is EXCELLENT--The inner globe was broken with it arrived, and when I called about it, the person with whom I spoke could not have been nicer or more helpful and then the new, perfect light arrived here in just a few days! thank you so much--I have had so much experience with little things going wrong when it comes to ordering things for design projects, which makes me appreciate my caboche piccola chandelier even more!

Awesome product - clean simple look

We got two above our dining table and they look real good. Instalation was fun - i wish they had provided a rod to cover the string and electric wire so that the only focus is the chandelier itself.

I must also provide a feedback on Ylighting - they recommended going for open box. I was skeptical and asked for free return option if i didn't get them in great condition. Their customer service is good.

Exceeded my already high expectations

The Caboche Piccola chandelier is a stunning piece of art. I ended up getting two to hang over a very large kitchen island and it is the statement piece that completed my brand new modern kitchen. I would buy more of them for other areas of my home, I just don't want them to end up being over-kill.

Stunning, most beautiful chandelier

This is my second Caboche Piccola chandelier and I could not be happier. I ended up getting one through the "open box" section and the other full price. After now seeing them and using them, I would pay full price hands down (if I had too). I even noticed the large chandelier was on the show Modern Family after I bought it!
