First purchased UTO lights in orange, (the color was like a cantaloupe and not what we were looking for). Changed to white, used a compact florescent, and the light created is slightly, ever so slightly lavender in the evening. They look like an upside down calla lily: graceful, light and luminous.

Had trouble with the mounting system as it is not suited for USA standards, so my husband ground down a metal projection that was interfering. Hence the 4 star rating.

As in other comments made here, there is a Dr. Suess-like quality - if your ceiling mount is too far from where you want to hook the cord to, you'll be enhancing that look quite a bit.....

This light is neato. It looks great in the photos. Like another review said, it's rather large. Larger than I would have thought even reading that it was larger than you might think. When standing upright, the cable bends at the next and doesn't look good - so you can't really stand it upright and have it look good without a lot of fiddling and placing the cable. Also, I bought it to plug it in - and had to cut apart an extension cord in order to wire it up. Good thing my father in law was around b/c he's an engineer and figured it all out. The instructions say "call an electrician."

This pendant adds a colorful glow to the kitchen-task lighting that looks like a work of art! Field cut to length, just be careful when installing to be sure the internal switch is "on." The lights look massive and a bit Dr. Seussian in the box, but two were the perfect choice over a seven foot kitchen island. Would recommend.
