Later he became an architect and a member of the International Federation of Architects. He also has obtained degrees in mechanical engineering and has received a Masters in Industrial Design. Manel leads Elkarta Design, a design studio in Spain and the also teaches interior design at Elisava School in Barcelona. He has achieved many awards for his designs during his career and is a specialist in industrial design of lighting fixtures. B.LuxThe B.Lux group got its beginning as a co-op in Markina in 1980. Designer Guillermo Capdevila created the group's first illumination collection (Belux Systems) in 1980 which was warmly embraced by the American market.
