We just purchased 4 of these fans for low ceilings, they are great because the blades are closer to the ceiling. The light fixture is simple but with enough presence for our super lux bedrooms, they look of high quality without being overbearing. After all, they are ceiling fans, a cool looking one is great, but the giant monstruosities we had are gone. Now we have inviting bedrooms, with beautiful beds...and if you do look up, you have a very cool and highly functional fan to appreciate as well.

I had 3 Halo ceiling fans installed by an electrician. They work well and are a work of art - and when lit they glow beautifully. My only complaint is about the 2-wire controller installed at the wall for one of them which I why I rated this 4 stars, not 5. It's not that easy to use for dimming the light and it takes awhile to get used to. I recommend buying a separate Lutron wall controller which is what we installed for the other 2 fans because they are on 3-way circuits.

It is a nice product that works well. One piece of advice is to get the bigger blades. We got the model that does not hang down that far, with the shorter blades, which does not look exactly like the picture (the light is quite large in proportion to the blades, making it look less sleek). Make sure to look at the measurements before purchasing. It also took us a while to install (had some strange things happening until we removed the dimmer switch on the wall). After installing, it worked beautifully.

This is a nice fan for the price. It is an easy installation and very quiet. We were disappointed with a couple of things. The textured nickel color is more gold than nickel and the texture is kinda funky. But the plus side of all that is that the glass fixtures are so large that you will not see the textured nickel base. And that leads into the 2nd disappointment. The glass fixtures are larger than what we thought. Fortunately we had planned to install this in a high vaulted ceiling so it does work. My suggestion is that you should not consider this fan for a normal height ceiling. Only high vaulted ceilings where it will not be the only thing you see in that room. Overall it is a nice looking fan that will serve the purpose for our home.

The Halo ceiling fan is very quiet during operation. The light fixture on the fan is a piece of art. My ceilings are high so the light appears as a piece of art in the space. I would not recommend this fan for a small room with a low ceiling. At night the light the light emitted from the fixture is beautiful. I have a amber and white globe. I had an electrician install the fan in the place of an old existing one. I used a remote and it took a few attempts to get all the wires and remote transponder to fit in the canopy.

I purchased and installed this light for my own bedroom remodel and I am very satisfied with its design and operation.

The price on YLighting was cheaper than what I managed to find with my architects discount at my local brick and mortar supplier.

It shipped faster than estimated (probably since Modern Fan is out of Oregon) and I was able to easily intall it the evening that it arrived. It comes well packed and with good installation documentation.

The build quality is very solid and the fan motor is whisper quiet.

The simple design and the hand blown glass allow it to blend in well into the traditional detailing of our 1905 farmhouse style home.

The only detail of the fixture that I am not that pleased with is that the lower glass cylinder has an open bottom which allows the lightbulb to be exposed to view if, for instance, you happen to be lying in bed below it, otherwise you never notice this when standing.

I would recommend using Lutron's Maestro series fan / light dimmer switch. We used the two wired version and the remote reciever easily fit into the fans canopy. This switch has the best aesthetics and operation of any that I have seen and used.

Fan was sent with the wrong color glass cylinder. Box was labeled correctly, but wrong glass. I contacted Ylighting and they sent me out an additional glass.

I installed the fan as instructed, but for some reason the fan wobbles alot. I tried balancing it as best as I can, but on high speed, the fan looks like it is going to vibrate off the ceiling.

The Halo ceiling fan is a great looking and functional light. I have three of them in my house and really like them. I installed them all by myself. I needed a little help with the first one (wasn't sure how to wire the remote unit and keep it from interfering with the control of the other units in the house), but was able to install the others by myself for the most part. I found out the importance of having a well mounted junction box to start when I had some difficulty balancing the blades. The problem was that the junction box was a little loose. When I fixed it, the balancing was really easy. The only issue with the design that I have is the location of the canopy screws to the top of the canopy. I had some difficulty getting the canopy to fit over the screws because the screws are too close to the ceiling. It took some messing around before I got it. That part of the design could definitely be improved.
