There, they filled their car trunk with interesting garden pots they discovered in a roadside shop. When they returned to Los Angeles, they promptly sold the entire haul to a local florist. Recognizing an underserved market, they began to design and produce their own line of concrete flower pots, only to discover that the rustic, hand-crafted quality of the pieces would make unique bases for lamps. With this conversion, the Jamie Young Company was born. David designed the bases and Jamie designed the shades.
