Design by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet, 2010. Standing on four slim legs, the Masters Chair is roomy and comfortable. The back of the chair is characterized by fullness and empty spaces created by curvaceous crisscrossing lines of three different backs which descend and merge into the edge of the seat. The Masters Chair pays homage to three contemporary design icons through a fusion of styles. Referencing the silhouettes of Arne Jacobsen's Series 7, Eero Saarinen's Tulip Armchair and Charles Eames' Eiffel Chair, the Masters Chair is an engaging and sinuous hybrid. Suitable for indoor/outdoor use and stackable 4 units high. The Masters Chair is available in a choice of six solid colors: black, white, grey, sage green, rusty orange and mustard. Notes: Suitable for indoor/outdoor use. Material(s): polypropylene, polymer Dimensions: Models: KRT-5865 5865 Philippe StarckBorn in Paris in 1949, Philippe Starck is one of the most original designers and architects of the last three decades. Having designed furniture, hotels, mega-yachts, lighting and many others throughout his career, Starck has become a fixture in modern design. Not only does Starck create beautifully unconventional designs, he creates a finished product whose main purpose is to function well before anything else. Philippe Starck has obtained many important acknowledgements, including the Grand Prix National de la Création industrielle and the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects. In Starck's own words, "subversive, ethical, ecological, political, humorous... this is how I see my duty as a designer." Customer ReviewsNot as outdoorsy as you may think. Clever concept. Nicely molded. The "armrests" are not really functional, height-wise. If you purchase these for outdoors: they do not drain. My fault for not studying the photos closely enough, but any chair advertised as "suitable for outdoors" should drain, in my view. By: S.S., Designer (Austin, TX) The most beautiful and practical chairs that you can find at this moment in the market! These chairs are just amazing. Just the idea of mixing three big masters of the 20th century to create this chair sounds amazing, but the final result tells everything. Comfortable, beautiful shape, the idea of the arms makes the chair "stand out" to the other options of chairs available. It was definitely worth it and I can say for that price having this amazing chair designed by one of the masters of the 21st century it's like nobody can beat it. They look amazing in my client's outdoor terrace in a modern brand new condo in the coast of Colombia.
