Although the white may render itself problematic in the future, I plan to Scotch-guard the fabric. And the covers are removable and machine washable! I went with the Trevira, which I think is worth it. I went to the Kartell store and sat in this chair and looked at all the fabric options before purchasing from Yliving. The guy at the store told me the Trevira will hold shape over the years better than the cotton, which will increase in elasticity and make the chair more soggy looking. I think he was being straight up with me, as the cotton really does seem more flimsy. I love this chair and think it's really comfortable and looks great in my home. Word to the wise- not for those who are concerned over every scratch, as the rivet of a guest's jean has already put a small scratch in the side of the chair. They are plexi material and likely to scratch. It's not too visible, otherwise I think I would have freaked out more when I discovered it. All in all, I love this chair, I'm just a little more cautious about two people sitting in it and am concerned about more scratches in the future, but I would buy it again in a heart beat. Also, the assembly is a little difficult, but not too bad and one person can easily do it.
