I use the Equo Gen 3 as my desk lamp, sitting alongside a 27" Apple Thunderbolt display. The Equo generates a bright, cool, consistent light without flicker, with little heat and even less power drain, all wrapped in a package that is both beautiful to look at it and easy to manipulate. The only reasons for not giving it 5 stars are most likely a matter of personal taste: the touch sensitive dimmer switch is incongruously less elegant and just a bit more difficult to use than the rest of the lamp it controls; and the housing which contains the LEDs cannot be tilted back. It was easy to assemble, takes up such little real estate and disperses just the right amount of lighting over my desk.
