I ordered this particular lamp because I wanted a low-profile, LED, that would provide sufficient and precise illumination for reading and tasks. So far, the lamp has met both specifications and over-delivered on flexibility. It's great to have a lamp that moves to my needs rather than having to be moved. I wasn't expecting the dimmer to be important but I find I use it regularly. I would recommend this lamp to anyone and, in fact, I have recommended it to several people already.

In general, the Z-BAR Mini is great. I would likely purchase the same lamp again, but knowing what I know now, I would probably research some additional alternatives first.

Combined with the motion sensor and desk clamp, it's a great desk lamp. In hindsight, seeing the size on a large desk, I probably would have gone with the larger version to get more desk coverage, but the Mini works well enough. The build quality is great, and the light gives great even coverage for its size.

I find that it's a bit tedious to adjust when compared to a traditional desk lamp because most adjustments require two hands; one to hold part of it steady and the other to adjust the desired part. As it stands, some positions can be awkward to position the light just right as the only hinge is on the first joint. The joint near the head only pivots in a 180 degree arc. The head of the lamp then swivels around 360 degrees. It's minor, but it does make some positions awkward for adjustment compared to a traditional desk lamp.

Also, the strip for adjusting the brightness feels like a cheap puffy sticker. It's not a big deal, but it's not really what I expected.

Finally, I was looking for the most low-profile and understated lamp that I could find. For the most part, that is an accurate description of this lamp. However, given those design goals, I find it tacky that they obtrusively placed the branding, the word KONCEPT, on it near the very top. I'd prefer not to see any words or branding on the lamp. I can't remember ever seeing a high-end desk lamp that does this.

I want to re-iterate that I am happy with the purchase and would likely purchase again, but given the relatively high price, and having been spoiled by Apple products, I expected a higher level of fit and finish.

Z-Bar Mini is the perfect size for a computer work desk. We have this lamp on a desk with an Apple iMac computer and it looks like it was made for it. More importantly it gives bright, crystal clear lighting to our work area. The dimmer adjustment and the over all positional flexibility are great features.
