Design by Philippe Starck, 1996.
The Prince Aha stool is composed of two cones to resemble the shape of an hourglass. Select from seven matte color options.
Thought up as a colorful game of building blocks, the Prince Aha stool is composed of two cones to resemble the shape of an hourglass. An entertaining and colorful accessory, a practical stool and stand to place beside the couch or the bed. The pastel colors, the texture of the material used and the geometric design make Prince Aha a flexible product, easily inserted into any setting.

Born in Paris in 1949, Philippe Starck is one of the most original designers and architects of the last three decades. Having designed furniture, hotels, mega-yachts, lighting and many others throughout his career, Starck has become a fixture in modern design. Not only does Starck create beautifully unconventional designs, he creates a finished product whose main purpose is to function well before anything else.
Philippe Starck has obtained many important acknowledgements, including the Grand Prix National de la Création industrielle and the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects. In Starck's own words, "subversive, ethical, ecological, political, humorous... this is how I see my duty as a designer."
Kartell works with renowned designers such as Ron Arad, Antonio Citterio, Michele De Lucchi, Ferruccio Laviani, Piero Lissoni, patricia Urquiola, Vico Magistretti, Enzo Mari, Alberto Meda, Paolo Rizzatto and Philippe Starck, who all appreciate the wealth of knowledge that Kartell has about plastics technology and the innovative ways in which it can be effectively applied to items for modern living.
Kartell has over fifty years of experience in designing classic furniture from plastics which has made the company famous in the history of Italian and international design.
Nice multifunctional item.
You can use these as stools or end tables, indoors or outdoors. The top comes off so you can store small items inside. You can even fill them with ice cubes and put beer bottles in there for a party! I could also imagine filling them with soil and using as planters.
One of these was shipped with a cracked top but Y-Lighting immediately approved a replacement.

Perfect, compact design with multiple uses.
This stool is a pleasure to see and use. I have two and use them very differently. One serves a bath stool/towel holder/dressing aid, and the other as an extra seat/display surface/cocktail table. The Kartell quality elevates this stool from utilitarian usefulness to design object.

Have two of these stools and love them.
I use one as an extra seat for my kitchen table but it also stores dog food. The other is used as a vanity stool. The design is modern and attractive. Great little stool!
