The design is graphically interesting, not clunky ( though the color was not quite as it appeared on the website). Quality is excellent.

The lamp is a sparky red (nail polish kinda red- happens to match the red trigger on a Windex bottle) so it adds stylish punch to our black and gray living room. Our recent party guests loved them. The base shape works with modern or retro. The "capsule" shape of the shade is different and looks great. Slight downside I bought 2 and for some reason one lamp is over 1 inch smaller than the other - it's weird. Not noticeable when they are on either side of the sofa but I will not be able to use them, for example, on the ends of a sideboard. The saddle was so tightly clamped to the harp that I had trouble leveling the shade (even with pliers). Socket is basic 3-way, not fancy. Overall, very happy with the purchase - was worth taking a risk on red :)
