The lines are clean and slick and the light is low and steady.

It is a slick linear light good for task as well as a reading lamp.

Very nice looking high tech design

Lighting is flourescent and not too intense. The unit swivels left and right and tilts slightly up and down. Looks great on both sides of a bed ont he wall

HANDSOME READING LIGHT

Installed a pair of these as bedside reading lights. They look great and work well. The florescent lamps are bright enough -- and, of course "green," although not everybody will like the cool blue light. The only con is that they are touchy to install -- it isn't easy to get the back plate screwed to the wall in such a way that the lamp ends up parallel to the floor. But for a modern, solidly built fixture, you can't beat the price.

Crisply stylish lamp, that has good horizontal reach.

We opted for these as reading lamps on either side of the bed, over some dowdy sconcey thing. We were looking for directed light that was somewhat adjustable. These lights are well-built and sturdy despite the sleek look. The only downside is that the horizontal arms are not completely square to the wall plate and that makes them look sort of crooked. I noticed it when there was nothing else in the room, and may not notice it once furniture is in. Don't know yet.

Clean design, good value.

Very nice lamp, great for bedside and next to sofa for reading light.
Good reach, wall mountable to reduce excess wires.

Would probably be best in home applications or light duty commercial as heavy use may be problematic. Overall a good value compared to other lamps on the market.

Elegant & Functional

So far so good. Although we haven't installed them yet, we like what we see. The swivel on one of the lights was very tight - took some muscle to get it moving. Otherwise, I'm always happy with YLighting's prompt deliveries, customer service and return policy. Looking forward to reading in bed again!

Y-Lighting is THE place to buy!

Having looked all over the DC area and the internet, Ylighting has a huge selection that makes shopping easy on the purse and the gas tank. I am very pleased with the Madake Wall Lamps and they are perfect for reading in bed.
Ylighting has sold me!

Great reading light, great price

The Madake looks great as reading light. If you don't like the blueish cast of the bulb, you can get replacements which are closer to an incandescent/yellow cast. The shipping was very quick, and communication great.

The backplate finish can get scratched when you're adjusting the light/arm.

Sturdy and sleek

The finish color wasn't what we expected for the name. The light output is not strong enough. The arm angle seems not to align exactly with the base plate. The cover for the hanging cord should be doubled in length, maybe by supplying two of them so the packaging stays small.

great little bedside lamps. mounting takes precision and easier using the hard wired mount than flush mount to make minute level changes

Exceeded our expectations.

We purchased two George Kovac swing-arm wall sconces. The price was the best we found on the internet which included no sales tax and free shipping. They arrived in perfect condition in less than a week. It's nice to know that we have a reliable resource for future purchases.

This light is excellent for bedtime reading!

I looked a long time for a reading light to mount above my bed. YLighting had the solution. The Madake wall lamp is perfect for my bedtime reading. I have one mounted on the wall above the headboard, on each side of my bed. The construction and quality of the light is superb. The dorian bronze color was great for matching my decor. Installation took about 10 minutes for each light and was easy! Very satisfied! Thanks YLighting!

Nice looking & useful

This wall lamp was one of the less expensive lamps that I found to put on the wall by our bed. It looks great with our contemporary decor & is easy to adjust for reading.

Impressed by the quality and design

impressed by the quality and design but disappointed in the amount of light given off. I think a stronger wattage bulb was needed.

A great value for the price--good design, materials and manufacture.

I just had the lamps installed and I am very pleased with the result as they look great on each side of my bed. They are well made and the finish is good. I am very pleased.

Sleek lines

The product, which was back ordered for many weeks, arrived and was just as we expected. Lovely contemporary, sleek lines and easy to operate. Our only regret is that the cord cover does not fully cover the electrical cord. Ylighting was extremely helpful in contacting the manufacturer to inquire about whether they offer another length cord cover but unfortunately, they do not.

Madake is a beautifully sleek, horizontal piece of sculpture.

This fixture may not fit every situation, but it certainly fits the bill when you're looking for a super thin, horizontal task light. My only negative comment is that I thought that the brushed aluminum housing would have a little sparkle to it: it is rather dull in material appearance.

I am pleased with the amount of light and how easy it was to install it.

Great fixture, you can turn it in any direction, also lays flat on the wall. Easy to install. Great stainless steel finish. Has high power good quality light and was not very expensive.

The Madake wall lamp is a perfect fit for my small space.

Beautiful design, light in weight, sleek and clean.

Easy to install. However, had to exchange because the cylinder attached to the wall plate was soldered off-kilt so the horizontal arms are therefore not square to the unit. Only found out after removing the plastic covering on the product and placed on wall, while comparing it to the other one (side companion to bed). Visually noticeable. Hope Y Lighting will remedy this. Great company.

Well designed light. Nice finish

This light has nice fit and finish. It installs easily. Puts out a bit of a white blue light. The arm is a bit stiff. The switch is well placed but would look better in a metal finish to match the face plate.

Good fixture overall, but...

Like the fixture overall, but two screws on side that hold the fixture to the mounting box are not strong enough. The fixtures are too heavy for them they are tipping off on their own weight. Needed to add screws on top to hold them in place.

We are a fan of George Kovacs

We purchased two lights to go beside our bed, I would not use with anything except a king size bed with the scale of these lights. We like everything about the lights with the exception of there should have been one more place to secure the light to the wall at the top, as the fixture rocks up and down.

Sleek, modern bedroom reading light

I was looking for a light that was sleek but provided enough light for reading. After reviewing numerous lights, the Madake Wall Light was a clear selection. It hasn't disappointed. It provides ample light for a sleek, modern look. Would recommend it, if you're shooting for a modern look.

Burns Out when Bulb Burns Out

I've had the lamp for about 6 years now, and when the bulb burns out, it means the lamp is done, which is disappointing. Never had a lamp that lasted for such a short time. Also, if one goes the other one is not far behind, so don't replace one lamp, just wait until the other blows out and then treat yourself to two other new lamps. Also, getting the bulb out is unnecessarily laborious. The clamps they provide help, but the directions on how to do it need updating. Disappointing experience with these lamps, given how great they look.

Beautiful Look, Poorly Designed

I'm not entirely sure how this light has received such rave reviews. I have gone through 4 different lights, in each case the ballast burned out and is nearly impossible to replace (it's custom and not available via the Internet). I love the look but the actual inner workings are cheap and poorly constructed. I would avoid this light and go for another version. YLighting is great to work with but skip this light and buy another - even though it looks great...

Avoid this product.

We mounted 2 fixtures, one on either side of our king-sized bed, and loved the design. Changed the florescent tube to a warmer model without too much difficulty. HOWEVER, the ballast on one gave out after 6 months. At the time I was able to order 6 replacement ballasts on the internet and my husband was able to figure out how to replace it. The ballasts proved faulty, however, and we went through all 6 in less than a year. Three of the 6 would not work for even a short time. I note now that the ballasts are no longer readily available.
