Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this product. We mounted 2 fixtures, one on either side of our king-sized bed, and loved the design. Changed the florescent tube to a warmer model without too much difficulty. HOWEVER, the ballast on one gave out after 6 months. At the time I was able to order 6 replacement ballasts on the internet and my husband was able to figure out how to replace it. The ballasts proved faulty, however, and we went through all 6 in less than a year. Three of the 6 would not work for even a short time. I note now that the ballasts are no longer readily available.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Burns Out when Bulb Burns Out I've had the lamp for about 6 years now, and when the bulb burns out, it means the lamp is done, which is disappointing. Never had a lamp that lasted for such a short time. Also, if one goes the other one is not far behind, so don't replace one lamp, just wait until the other blows out and then treat yourself to two other new lamps. Also, getting the bulb out is unnecessarily laborious. The clamps they provide help, but the directions on how to do it need updating. Disappointing experience with these lamps, given how great they look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crisply stylish lamp, that has good horizontal reach. We opted for these as reading lamps on either side of the bed, over some dowdy sconcey thing. We were looking for directed light that was somewhat adjustable. These lights are well-built and sturdy despite the sleek look. The only downside is that the horizontal arms are not completely square to the wall plate and that makes them look sort of crooked. I noticed it when there was nothing else in the room, and may not notice it once furniture is in. Don't know yet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful Look, Poorly Designed I'm not entirely sure how this light has received such rave reviews. I have gone through 4 different lights, in each case the ballast burned out and is nearly impossible to replace (it's custom and not available via the Internet). I love the look but the actual inner workings are cheap and poorly constructed. I would avoid this light and go for another version. YLighting is great to work with but skip this light and buy another - even though it looks great...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HANDSOME READING LIGHT Installed a pair of these as bedside reading lights. They look great and work well. The florescent lamps are bright enough -- and, of course "green," although not everybody will like the cool blue light. The only con is that they are touchy to install -- it isn't easy to get the back plate screwed to the wall in such a way that the lamp ends up parallel to the floor. But for a modern, solidly built fixture, you can't beat the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This light is excellent for bedtime reading! I looked a long time for a reading light to mount above my bed. YLighting had the solution. The Madake wall lamp is perfect for my bedtime reading. I have one mounted on the wall above the headboard, on each side of my bed. The construction and quality of the light is superb. The dorian bronze color was great for matching my decor. Installation took about 10 minutes for each light and was easy! Very satisfied! Thanks YLighting!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful design, light in weight, sleek and clean. Easy to install. However, had to exchange because the cylinder attached to the wall plate was soldered off-kilt so the horizontal arms are therefore not square to the unit. Only found out after removing the plastic covering on the product and placed on wall, while comparing it to the other one (side companion to bed). Visually noticeable. Hope Y Lighting will remedy this. Great company.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek lines The product, which was back ordered for many weeks, arrived and was just as we expected. Lovely contemporary, sleek lines and easy to operate. Our only regret is that the cord cover does not fully cover the electrical cord. Ylighting was extremely helpful in contacting the manufacturer to inquire about whether they offer another length cord cover but unfortunately, they do not.
