First delivery: the lamp had crimps/dents in the plastic, but ylighting was great in dealing with the exchange - no issues with them at all. But do inspect your lamp very carefully.

All of the reviews are straight on! No installation instructions, plastic, (cheap) materials, but when installed, the lamp is STUNNING. The top ceiling cone/cover is very cheap, and the small amount of info provided says that it will stay up on it's own, but it slides down a bit. There is a small hole to place a bolt or blunt screw to secure it, but nothing was provided to do so. This was my first hard-wire installation (with help from others), and I was able to successfully install it myself.

I wish that Illuminating Experiences (the manufacturer) would read these reviews about their product and would improve some of the materials and installation information.

The conical canopy is a flimsy, cheap looking plastic and the wire that attaches to it at the top is equally cheap and tacky looking. One would expect something of a higher quality in terms of material and finishes for such an expensive fixture. The fixture itself is very pretty, but we ended up sending it back.

I hung this lamp in my library/office as a central ceiling fixture. I was a little worried that it would not be suitable for this location, since most illustrations picture the light hanging much lower and used in more defined spaces. But I needn't have worried. I hung it about 14in. below our 9'5" ceiling and it looks stunning! And it looks simply beautiful as a foil for my books, maps, paintings, and Bertoia chairs. Even my husband is enchanted.

Although the installation was a bit awkward, once we figured it out, the fixture was easy. It is a cool fixture, really works with both modern and ecletic interiors. It also gives off much more light that we thought which was perfect for this installation.

1. there was no installation sheet at all!

2. the fixture is not grounded! This is a serious issue as we had to ground a wire ourselves but there are likely many people who do not (given that there are no installation instructions) and that would be a a code violation.

Actually, as to the recent order of 2 LeKlint Pendants, the boxes are unopened pending someone to install them. HOwever, I had 2 similar LeKlints in my previous home. Some of the plastic pieces were bent - not noticeably so that I had to return them but, yet, I knew the folds were there. Another thing. I would prefer that they take a larger bulb than a 75 watt, but I like the looks of them so much that I put up with the lower wattage.

I put this light in the corner of the master bedroom, above a desk. It is the only hanging light in a large room, and it really makes the room, giving it just that extra bit of visual interest that it needed. It is a modern/wood and glass type decor, and the wavy round sculptural feel of this light is the perfect antidote to the angles and hard surfaces in the room. I will still need a small desk lamp, but I expected that to be the case.

I bought the Le Klint 172 for my dining room and it's great! I didn't want something large, so the size (about 13" diameter) is perfect. The aesthetics are great too. I haven't studied design, so to me it looks less "retro" and almost more "futuristic." Retro-futuristic, maybe?

The item itself, by the nature of what it is (shaped plastic sheeting with a metal wire infrastructure) seems a little delicate. But the item is well-made and does exude quality workmanship.

I'd say the best thing about the Le Klint 172 is the way that light from the bulb illuminates the form, giving definition to the curves in gradations of brightness that really look beautiful. On the downside, this pendant is a little on the pricey side, but I suppose there's a price for good design and quality construction!

Love the look, but my electrician didn't love this fixture. We purchased it for over our baby's crib and our electrian had lots of concerns about the material - either catching on fire, melting or of the fixture itself falling off and landing on the baby. The clip that holds the cord to the lamp was very flimsy, so he used a piece of wire to fabricate something more sturdy and we used a "cool" bulb of a lesser wattage to avoid and fire safety concerns. I don't think I'd leave the light on all night as a nightlight, but overall we addressed the safety concerns and have a very cute fixture above our crib. This is much, much sturdier than the original pendant we bought from Pottery Barn Teen that my electrician said he would never put in his own house and he refused to attach it to the ceiling. At least the Le Klimt has a wire cage within the structure of the pouf, is UL listed and is a better material.

Then I turned it on. It's like a piece of sculpture hanging from the ceiling. He was amazed--he took down the name (and ylighting's email) cause he was so surprised. I admired this lamp for years when I lived in Denmark, and so I was very glad to purchase it for use over my dining table, where it sheds a rather beautiful light. It is, however, difficult to clean. Dust has to be carefully brushed off each curve using a paintbrush, and the dust (and the occasional dead fly) that collects on the interior is nearly impossible to remove wel, and shows up when the lamp is lit. Plus, should anyone attempt this cleaning without proper delicacy and care, the plastic coated paper dings very easily and doesn't come back to perfect shape.

Bought Le Klint Pendant 172. Excellent product and gives off great soft white light, works especially well with a dimmer. However, if you are near a Pinkberry yogurt store watch out -they have the same product in all their stores!

Love this pendant lamp. On a dimmer, it appears in a full range from full moon to shimmering orb. Very cool looks - an instant conversation piece. Folds do get dusty, so you'll have dust regularly. And bugs die inside (nasty little corpses lying above my dinner table). Overall I'm very pleased.
