I work from home and needed a nice, stylish desk lamp that was also practical - I had gone through many that were not. This one is perfect! It has a small footprint, so it doesn't take up too much desk space, and you can position it at an angle to light the exact spot that you need to shed light on. I purchased it with the red shade, which is also very pretty, especially when lighted - it has a weave to it and isn't completely opaque, but that's totally fine for my needs. I literally looked at thousands of lamps before selecting this one - it's expensive, but for my money, worth the price.
