We purchased this fixture for use in an office/headquarters lobby. It is suspended above the reception desk, providing ambient light to the workspace and great aesthetics to the room. It's a lovely fixture and receives many compliments. The one (big) design flaw to the fixture is it's use of fluorescent, rather than incandescent light. Fluorescent light does NOT permit the use of a dimmer. And the bulbs that fit the fixture put out enough light for an entire operating room. It is SO bright. We had our electrician out a number of times, trying multiple ways to tone down the wattage and cornea-burn. The final solution arrived upon was to remove two bulbs. Not a perfect solution, but it works. If this were an incandescent light, a dimmer would have fixed the issue, lickety-split, and provided so much more flexibility. Down with fluorescents! DOWN!
