Design by Roberto Paoli, 2013.
Made in Italy by Leucos.
The Nia 12S Suspension Light from Leucos is a collection of pendants that takes its name and shape from the "Noce del’Amazonia," also known as the Brazil nut. Roberto Paoli was fascinated by the simple geometry of this nut, and chose to use its hollowed out, three-ribbed skeleton as the inspiration for Nia. Much like its shape, its name originated from removing the inner parts of the phrase "Noce del’Amazonia," leaving only the outer letters "N" and "ia," resulting in Nia.
Featuring gentle curves and enchanting glass work, Nia's three-ribbed design becomes a vessel of light through the use of LEDs. While two ribs unite to create a leaf-shaped diffuser, the third holds a series of LEDs that project onto the leaf, resulting in a dazzling display of illumination. Also available in single, 3-light, and 6-light versions.
Diffuser is made of entirely hand-processed cast glass. Frame is constructed of white lacquered metal and white polycarbonate. Canopy has a painted white finish. Provides decorative and ambient illumination.
