Pendant lights are perfect for kitchen installations over counters, peninsulas and islands. They are also popular over tables and seating areas.
The first step to ordering pendant fixtures is to determine the method of hanging. Next, select a glass or metal shade.
Pendants are adaptable to our L, H and J track systems or can be hung as a single monopoint fixture. Cordsets, available in 48" or 96" lengths, can easily be cut to any length, include a 50W JC Bi-Pin lamp and a glass protective shield. The “hang straight” tube accessory provides a perfectly straight drop that gives the appearance of a rod, and the ability of field shortening.

They are ETL listed. ETL is a competitor of
UL who focuses on the electrical industry as opposed to UL who handles a wider scope of products.
Many other companies in the lighting industry carry the ETL safety label including Lithonia, Thomas

First of all, you have to determine the
hanging method. You have three options. a. As part of a track system. In this
application, you will not need a separate transformer. The fixture is built like a track head, fully equipped
with a 50W electronic transformer. You will simply determine the track system:
i. 3-wire track (HHT fixture for
"H" tracks)
ii. 2-wire track (LHT fixture for
"L" tracks)
iii. New 2-wire track (JHT fixture for
"J" tracks)
b. As part of a linear system. A separate
transformer is required.
c. As a single monopoint light.
i. MI - On a mini 2½" monopoint. In
this application, you will need a remote transformer.
ii. ME - On a 4½" monopoint with a
built-in 50W electronic transformer.
iii. MO - On a 4½" monopoint. In this
application, you will need a remote transformer.

They can be shortened to any length simply by
cutting the socket wire to the desired length from the socket
side, and reconnecting the wires to the socket which is easily accessed, and
then replacing the bulb shield.
We have the dome and cone in red, yellow, white,
blue and green. We also have the inverted open cone
in pink, seafoam green and white. Metal shades are available in brushed aluminum
and gold.
It is a plastic sleeve (like a straw) that goes
over the cord to obtain a perfectly straight drop. Often times,
pendant wires do not hang perfectly straight as the glass is too light to keep
the cord straight. It gives the appearance of
a metal rod, but has the flexibility to be cut to any length.
The canopy (ME, MI, MO), or track fixture is
installed as usual on the sloped ceiling. The cord makes the
bend. When using the hang straight tube, there will be a slight gap at the top
fitting. (It is designed to fit inside the
fitting which will not work when sloped).

In contrast to new construction housings, remodeling housings are appropriate when you have limited or no access to the space above a new fixture, such as in an apartment or a home without crawl spaces or attics above.
New Construction Housings
In contrast to remodeling housings, new construction housings are bulkier and need to be installed between joist beams or onto hangar bars and thus you need full access to the space above the fixture. This style is best used if you are building in a new space, gutting a room, or have an attic above or pop out ceiling, etc.
Non-IC Rated
Non-IC stands for: non insulation contact. Thus, non-IC-rated housings must be kept at least 3 inches away from any insulation.
IC Rated
IC stands for: insulation contact. Thus, IC-rated housings can come in direct contact with thermal insulation.
MR16 Halogen Bulb
MR 16 is a standard format for halogen multifaceted reflector light bulbs. MR16 lamps are regularly used in place of standard incandescent light bulbs as they harness and shoot light, resulting in less light loss than a traditional bulb. These are best used when you want focused light such as in a pendant over a countertop or an accent light on a painting.

Damp Location
If the environment exposes the lighting system to moisture condensation, then the location is a damp location. Lights that are approved for damp locations can be used in sheltered outdoor areas such as roofed porches or interior locations subject to moderated degrees of moisture such as basements.
Wet Location
If the lighting system is exposed to direct impact by water from splashing or dripping, which will make the fixture wet, then the location is a wet location. Your most common wet locations are uncovered outdoor areas.
