Design by Arne Jacobsen, 1956.
By Louis Poulsen.

AJ Eklipta was originally designed for the City Hall in Rødovre, Denmark to illuminate indoor staircases and exterior walls. As a true functionalistic master, Arne Jacobsen created AJ Eklipta in a time period when Danish design had an exceptional quality to it, and today this fixture is still used in all kinds of architectural environments worldwide. The AJ Eklipta LED Wall Light provides the space with soft, diffused illumination. The triple-layer mouth-blown glass shade has a clear edge, creating a halo of light around the perimeter.

The Aj Eklipta LED Wall Light is available in 13.7" or 17.7" diameters with 3000K or 4000K color temperature. The ceiling/wall box is composed of spun aluminum and the diffuser is made of mouth-blown white opal glass. Can be mounted directly to a finished surface over a recessed 4" octagonal junction box.

Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was trained as a bricklayer and graduated from The Technical Society's school in 1924 and Copenhagen Art Academy 1927. In 1928 he received the Academy's gold medal, but prior to this, when only 23, he was awarded a silver medal at the 1925 Paris World Exhibition — the first of numerous honours that became a natural accompaniment to his artistic activities, his untiring search and his brilliant conceptions, made manifest by many successes in competitions at home and abroad.

Louis Poulsen

Louis Poulsen's approach to architectural development began with its collaboration with famous and well respected lighting designers, like Poul Henningsen. Together they created a lighting and product philosophy encompassed by the words "function", "comfort" and "ambience". This philosophy continues to influence simple and functional product design, which focuses on well-being and the perception of artificial light, which leads to the creation of unique lighting environments. Louis Poulsen's approach to lighting lies in a very strict and uncompromising product philosophy grounded in simplicity. All elements must serve a light-related purpose. The result is a product line that displays simple and discreet designs ideally suited to all types of architecture across cultural styles.
